<aside> 📩 EMAIL - 99.99999999% For External Use Only!!! The [email protected] email is excellent for business between Remote and the outside world. It is also the primary security token for many of the software tools we use. Internally however, we use Slack threads/Notion comments.

• Internal use -
  • Notifications - Though we don’t use it for inter-office comms, email is an important endpoint for software alerts and notifications. Be sure to have your notification settings fine tuned so that you are receiving the alerts you want and filtering those you do not. You can enable/disable and adjust the way notifications are triggered under the Settings pane of the software that is sending the alerts.
  • Transparency - Email transparency ensures smoother handoff/monitoring if sender goes on PTO, allows anyone to search for relevant conversations happening elsewhere in email, and improves point-of-failure analysis when something breaks. We have set up a public archive scheme using gmail/google groups.
    • "[email protected]" - for emails relevant to a specific team (TechOps will assign you to the correct group for your team.)
    • "[email protected]" - for emails relevant to a specific project. Anyone can create a group and assign it an archive role. At minimum, please get into the habit of CCing "[email protected]" when sending email.

<aside> 📅 CALENDARS - Google Calendar is our SSoT for scheduling.

• Always use UTC when creating appointments.
• For appointments with Bridge team members, please consult Executive Operations. </aside>

<aside> 🎥 LOOM - Loom is our main tool for recording video messages.

• Set share permissions to “All of Remote” when sharing link in main channels. Otherwise users will not be able to view. </aside>

<aside> 🌐 WEB CONFERENCING - Google Meet is our primary video call service for most things, Zoom for select use cases.
