For a lot of people December is about good food, good company, helping others and - of course - presents! We can't be together and share food as a distributed team, but we can treat each other with a little surprise present! 💝 And that's what Secret Elf is all about. Get in the holiday mood (if you want to!) and sign up for some ✨ holiday joy ✨.

What is Secret Elf?

This is an opt-in event where team members exchange gifts with each other. Participants only know to whom they have to send a gift. Because this event takes place around the end-of-year holidays, and as each participant has no clue who will send them a gift, this is called "Secret Elf" 🤫.

How does it work?

• Fill out this survey if you want to opt in by November 24th, 2023.
• Kaylie will let you know by December 1st, 2023 whose Secret Elf you'll be, including a tip on where to best order a gift in your match's country.
• Get a present, and ship it so it arrives before 24 December 2022.
  • The budget is €10 for the gift, to be paid for out of pocket.
• Wait for your present to arrive.
• When it arrives: unpack it, take a picture and thank your Elf in the #secret-elf Slack channel to let them know that the gift has been received!
• If you have not received your gift by January 15th, or you are unsure if your match received the gift you sent, please reach out to Kaylie.

Note: By participating in Secret Elf, you grant your match access to your address.

Q: I have this super duper awesome gift idea, but it's under budget..."

A: That is perfectly fine. It is more important to give something awesome than to spend the whole budget.
